No sky for me
'No sky for me' is a visual narrative about a generation of Afghans born and raised in Iran. The story begins with my own experience, before I moved to Norway, when I was part of this generation and lived within its limitations. This country shaped their language, habits, and everyday lives, yet legally they are not recognized as citizens. They are considered migrants, with limited access to the rights that define belonging. For many of them, Afghanistan is not a place of lived memory, but a name carried through documents and classifications.
At the center of this project is Mahnaz, a 20-year-old woman whose life reflects this shared reality. She works in a small tailoring workshop, ironing clothes to support herself, while holding onto a dream of becoming a voice artist.
